Mti – Traffic Signal Plants

MTI – Traffic Signal Plants

Project Description

Full civil delivery of traffic signal underground plants across Manitoba — including complete intersection builds, rehabilitation of existing signalized intersections, and pedestrian corridor upgrades to support safe traffic operations.

Project Overview

No Limits Underground completed multiple MTI traffic signal plant projects across urban, rural, and remote regions throughout Manitoba. The work included underground servicing, directional drilling, piling, concrete foundations, traffic signal infrastructure installation, and associated civil works to support safe pedestrian and vehicle movement at high-traffic intersections and corridors.

Key Challenges

· Bedrock and limestone ground conditions requiring specialized excavation methods.

· Work in remote and northern communities with limited access and logistics constraints.

· Construction adjacent to high-traffic roadways and provincial highways.

· Tight construction schedules requiring precise coordination and traffic management.

Despite these constraints, NLU consistently met project schedules while maintaining high safety standards and strict compliance with MTI installation specifications.

Major Crossings Completed

The long‑haul routes required extensive coordination and execution of significant crossings, including:

  • Major waterways and river systems
  • Railway corridors
  • Provincial and national highways
  • Aqueduct infrastructure
  • TransCanada pipeline corridors

Each crossing was completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
